I’ve never been hired by a college’s dining hall to draw caricatures before, but I’m glad they did! Although these college kids were busy, many of them made it a point to watch me draw caricatures or even sit in the caricature seat themselves at this New Hampshire college event.
Many of the college students at this event were art majors, which made it interesting to talk with them about art and artist things. It makes me proud when I draw at an art school, because not only do the students get their very own caricature to take home, but they see an artist working in their career element and learn more about what it takes to become a caricature artist and what it’s like to be one.
I just loved the branding this college dining hall did for their event, and the indoor branding art was spectacular. As a graphic designer, these things always stand out to me. I am always looking at art around me, whether at a party or event, or something else. The environments make half the experience when I’m booked on a caricature gig. The people, for sure, are the other half.
