This particular wedding expo was held at the Margate in Laconia, NH which is a wedding venue itself, so there was a tour of the facility where they gave brides, grooms and their families an on-site experience with their wedding ceremony and reception options.

It was cool to see all of the different DJ’s and photographers, limo services and event planners. Everyone had their own unique set up to try and catch brides as they strolled past their event booth.

I set up my caricature easel, of course, and offered free color caricatures to event go-ers, which was widely appreciated. Many people were excited to see that I offered free custom caricature paper branding and were surprised to hear that I could draw up to 20 caricatures an hour. These are just two of the unique selling points I have when I’m telling people about my caricature experience.

When I attend a wedding expo, it’s typically in New Hampshire, which is nice, because I am typically meeting event attendees who are interested in finding entertainment and other services for their New Hampshire wedding. It makes it convenient to have everything in one place. They even had a $1,000 raffle for one lucky bride to use at any event vendor of their choice to use toward their wedding.

If you know me well, you’d know that I’ve never been a huge fan of working outside in the cold winter, but for events like these, I can’t get enough. The music, the excitement, the family entertainment, the art, the annual cheer is just as awesome as it was the year before.

Every year, caricatures is a huge hit, and every year I look forward to coming back and helping to make thier community event entertainment successful. I can’t wait to go back next year!

Check out this really awesome caricature I did of this event go-er and her pet pup. I have never seen a dog sit so well for a photo! So cute! We all had a great time!

Although 20º is not an easy feat in front of the lake for hours on a Sunday; however, the music, the entertainment, the energy, the community, the families- It really makes it all worth it. I’ve been drawing live caricatures at this Annual Winter Carnival in Alton, NH for several years, and it just keeps getting bigger and better. It’s amazing when I have families sit down, reminding me of our interaction the year before and how they are excited to have a new and updated annual caricature from me.

A true nostalgic experience as I visit year after year drawing caricatures of families who grow and fill the community with love, laughter and fellowship. I am really proud to be a part of it.

For this company party, I used a digital caricature list. People could sign up to have their caricature drawn by adding their name and phone number (and they receive a text when they’re next in line)! I use this caricature management tool sometimes at events for large crowds per request or when there is other things going on at the party or gathering. It’s just another option I provide my caricature clients to help make their event entertainment a success

Many of the college students at this event were art majors, which made it interesting to talk with them about art and artist things. It makes me proud when I draw at an art school, because not only do the students get their very own caricature to take home, but they see an artist working in their career element and learn more about what it takes to become a caricature artist and what it’s like to be one.

I just loved the branding this college dining hall did for their event, and the indoor branding art was spectacular. As a graphic designer, these things always stand out to me. I am always looking at art around me, whether at a party or event, or something else. The environments make half the experience when I’m booked on a caricature gig. The people, for sure, are the other half.

I’ve had so many events, I can’t remember them all (although I have taken notes on them), but these events had me bouncing from state to state. One day I could be home in New Hampshire, and then the next day I could be in Maine, Massachusetts, Vermont or Rhode Island. I even had a caricature client this year ask me if I would travel to Florida- well sure! If it made sense. I certainly wouldn’t complain about a work vacation, especially if everything was covered, would you? I have teased a few clients in the past- telling them, that if they ever need a caricature artist on their cruise, they know where to find me. (I really would consider it.)

Art certainly is my passion, and entertainment is my hobby, so it’s no wonder I’ve been able to put my all into growing my business visibility. This year, I’ve done more advertising, more networking and more purposeful growing in my New England caricature business than I ever have in the past. Between graphic design, consulting and other similar clients, I’ve found it hard to focus on building my caricature business, but this year, things are changing. I am putting caricatures in the forefront of my business and working hard to book as many parties and events that I can, building even more relationships with schools, brides, businesses and community organizations. This is where I’m happiest after all. You can see it in my performance. I am happy.

And it’s true- I’ve been drawing caricatures professionally for over 20 years- and it’s still my favorite thing to do in the whole world!

Again, another high energy, high production gig. When I’m drawing, I’m in my happy place, and caricature season is the place to be!

The venue was a big beautiful Vermont barn, set to service, decorated to impress and landscaped to perfection. The view and weather was spectacular. It couldn’t have been a more beautiful display to draw caricatures on a June weekend in Vermont.

Moreso than the venue though, was the really friendly staff and the very unique and personable party-goers. My clients and their guests were impressed and excited to have live caricature entertainment for their Bat Mitzvah event.

Although I didn’t get any photos of this event, here’s one from a fundraiser I can share with you. I always miss the reactions behind me while I’m looking at the person in front of me. I really loved this picture. <3

In Maine, I drew through midnight- just in time to catch a 3am – 6am event in Newmarket! I honestly think this is the latest gig I’ve done yet, but the experience for me, and for the kids really makes it all worth it!

I will have to sleep though, before my 5:30pm gig in Charlotte, VT less than 12 hours away. I really feel like I’m on tour here! Luckily, I’m a night owl most nights and I love to travel and entertain, because when June events roll in, I am really put to the test!

This is always the month of late-night graduation events. It’s always the month of LOTS of travelling, lots of smiling faces, and honestly, quite a bit of missed sleep- but it’s the season… Caricature season, and I’ve got to work hard to make all of these events a success. There really is something special knowing you’re an important part of the entertainment and blessed with the artistic opportunity to provide a live performance that blows your clients away.

It’s a beautiful life to live <3

This particular graduation event in Sanford, ME was really memorable. The kids started egging me on with their contagious laugh responses to my caricature art, so some of them came out pretty silly. There were so many amazing caricatures, I have lots of pictures to share with you.
